Who is Queer Choir?
Queer Choir is a choir for the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s not a competition choir, but a space for people who simply love to sing.
What was the objective?
The main purpose of Queer Choir’s website is to provide a platform where both existing and new members can stay updated on events and registrations.
Queer Choir is the only LGBTIQA+ choir in Aarhus and has existed for four years. At the end of 2024, Queer Choir became an independent association, separate from LGBT+ Aarhus. The association now has its own board, where I, Daniel Thorn Reuss Schmidt, serve as the president and current acting chair until the summer of 2025.
What was the problem?
Queer Choir faced the challenge of lacking an online presence and having no visual identity. The choir had neither a logo nor a website where they could gather information and attract new choir members.
What was the result?
The result was a new website for Queer Choir — a personal, queer-oriented platform that strengthened the choir’s visual identity. The site clearly communicates Queer Choir’s expression and values, along with the message that everyone is welcome in the choir, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, or age. In addition, the website features all 50 colourful flags representing the LGBTIQA+ community.
