Who is Nippon?
Nippon is a fictional company that sells fictional meal kits.
What was the objective?
The aim was to work with the fictional meal kit company Nippon, inspired by Japanese cuisine. Nippon is an online platform that helps young people, families, single individuals, and the elderly receive tailored meal kits to suit their needs.
There are various options available, including boxes focused on healthy eating, vegan meals, child-friendly dishes, and a luxury edition. On the website, users can customise their kits so they always include their favourite meals. Customers can choose meal plans ranging from 2 to 5 days — or anything in between. It takes three days from placing the order to receiving the first box. A subscription option is also available.
What was the problem?
Nippon faced the challenge of adapting its user interface to better meet the needs of its diverse target groups. A key issue was the optimisation of the search function, as users often struggled to find the most relevant results.
The lack of an effective filtering system made it difficult to search for specific categories and topics, which negatively affected the overall user experience on the site. In addition, the platform lacked visual elements such as animations that could enhance interactivity and usability.
Another issue was that Nippon lacked a strong visual identity. There was a need for a unique and recognisable logo, as well as a set of icons to create a cohesive and distinctive visual profile that would also support an improved user experience.
What was the result?
The result was a professional website created by the project group, based on the needs and preferences of the target audience. The site focused on allergy-friendly and lactose-free meals.
In addition, the project included clear visual representations of the dishes, as well as the development of a logo, colour scheme, subscription and cancellation flows, contact section, image style, typography, and icon set.
