Who is MyPalmShop<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

MyPalmShop is one of Europe\u2019s largest companies specialising in the sale of palm trees and plants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What was the objective?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of this exam was to demonstrate a solid understanding of the E-commerce specialisation and the ability to apply this knowledge in practice. I chose to work with MyPalmShop because I have a strong personal interest in plants and wanted to combine my professional skills with a personal passion. For this exam, the goal was not to create something entirely from scratch, but rather to redesign and optimise an existing website. The aim was to improve the user experience, strengthen the visual identity, and ensure that the webshop appears more modern and functional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The redesign process focused on making it easier for customers to navigate the webshop, find the products they\u2019re looking for, and at the same time, create a visual experience that reflects MyPalmShop\u2019s focus on plants and nature. The project became a combination of creative design and strategic thinking within the field of E-commerce.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What was the problem?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is essential to find a company facing challenges with its website, as this provides an opportunity to redesign and rebrand their online presence. When working on this type of project, it’s important to focus on several key elements, including CVI (Corporate Visual Identity), prototyping, UX\/UI design, and coding. These areas are central to developing a holistic solution that both strengthens the company\u2019s visual identity and improves the website\u2019s functionality.
The task is to identify and understand the specific problems the company is facing. For example, by analysing and pinpointing areas where the customer journey can be optimised and made more user-friendly. Taking customer needs and behaviour into account helps ensure that both the design and functionality support a smooth and efficient experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focusing on UX\/UI ensures that the website is intuitive and visually appealing, while coding and technical implementation ensure the solution is functional and scalable. Ultimately, the goal is to create a digital platform that effectively supports the company\u2019s objectives and improves the overall user experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What was the result?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The result was a completely redesigned website that not only improved the company\u2019s visual identity but was also optimised for a better user experience.During the redesign process, I took web accessibility into account \u2014 which will become a legal requirement in 2025 \u2014 and ensured that the site is accessible to all users, regardless of physical or cognitive challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I carefully worked with colours to improve contrast and readability, which also supports accessibility. Call-to-action (CTA) buttons were optimised to make it easier for users to take action, and SEO optimisation of the homepage ensures that the site is visible to search engines, boosting the company\u2019s online presence.In addition, I updated images and product cards to make them both visually appealing and functional, while supporting a smooth user journey. Overall, the redesign made the website more user-friendly, accessible, and optimised to attract and engage customers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
